Toric Automatic | PF0071 | White Gold
This Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Automatic is an early piece from the manufacture, released in 1998 and distinguished by its classical style and elegant design. Part of an initial movement to establish the brandâs early design language, the watch is a wonderful example of the transitional neo-vintage period in watches.
This Parmigiani Toric Automatic PF0071 has the distinction of being part of the first few watches offered by the newly inaugurated Parmigiani Fleurier manufacture, as part of their 1998 catalogue offerings. Classically styled, the watch is an excellent addition to any collection focusing on rarely-seen neo-vintage pieces.
As part of the Toric collection, the watch features several design principles that can be seen across the collection as a whole, such as the stepped coin-edge bezel and the javelin-style hands. The shape of the watch was inspired by the curvature of the Golden Ratio, while the intricate bezel draws upon classical Greek and Roman âDoricâ columns.
Elegance and subtlety are the watchwords of this neo-vintage piece, as it combines traditional techniques like engine-turning and knurling, further maintaining its classically-styled look through the combination of a white gold case and silvered dial. Additionally, the watch also possesses a date disc set at 3 oâclock, while the hands are rendered in white gold, with a blued steel seconds-hand, both adding a welcome touch of colour to the piece.
The calibre 133 movement can be seen through the sapphire caseback, revealing a beautifully engraved rotor bearing the PF signature, with subtle Côtes de Genève below.
If sold within the United Kingdom, this Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Automatic will be subject to 20% VAT
