Rue de la Paix Desk Clock with 24-hour Alarm | British Racing Green
Produced in the 1960s as part of a series featuring famous roads from iconic cities across the world, including New York’s ‘Wall Street’ and London’s ‘Portobello Road’, it represents a typical Parisian streetlamp. The ‘Rue de la Paix’ is perhaps the most emblematic of the series, typifying the street in Paris that runs from Place Vendôme to Opera Garnier.
Standing tall at 30 centimetres high and staying grounded thanks to its reassuring weight, it has a brass base painted in green and cream lacquer and is fashioned into a streetlamp shape with the classic blue street name. The cream-coloured dial features black Roman numerals, the full Jaeger-LeCoultre signature, and Louis XV hands made of blued steel.
Unlike many of the clocks in this series, this particular style has a 24-hour alarm with day and night indicator. It is a very neat and handy function - yet rarely used in travel- and desk clocks - to avoid the alarm setting off twice a day. There is also a function to disable the alarm. The movement features 8-day power reserve, marked with a circled ‘8’ on the dial.
A ‘talking-point’ alternative to a classic clock, it’s a stand-out object for any work desk, table, or shelf in your study.
If sold within the United Kingdom, this Rue de la Paix Desk Clock with 24-hour Alarm travel clock will be subject to 20% VAT.
