Clock | Brass & Leather
A distinctive design from Jaeger-LeCoultre, this leather-bound clock takes a pared-back approach typical of 1950’s minimalism. Understated and sophisticated with a modern feel, it is a fine example of its decade and is perfect for those with a love for mid-century pieces.
Designed and made in the 1950s, the clock is a testament to the savvy use of materials of the post-war years, while still showcasing excellence in both design and watchmaking. This stylish Jaeger-LeCoultre clock features a boxy, rectangular style, crafted from beautifully-aged brown leather with a lizard print effect.
The clock sits on a small gold brass column and a matching brown leather base. The dial is also in brown leather punctuated with contrasting cream hands and brass baton numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 that have aged over time and developed an attractive, warm patina. In keeping with its minimalist design of the post-war scarcity, it has little other embellishment, other than Jaeger-LeCoultre printed on the glass.
