Equestrian Catchall | two-tone

Equestrian Catchall | two-tone

A delightful object that would fit well in any area of the home, this Hermès catch-all features a subtle, yet beautifully made horse-shoe detail around the rim, in addition to an engine-turned centre.

Estimated to have been made around the 1960s, this tasteful Hermès catch-all was created by silversmiths Ravinet d'Enfert, long-time collaborators of the storied French house. The bottom of the catch-all features an engine-turned pattern, its complexity a welcome contrast against the rim's decoration.

Paying tribute to Hermès' equestrian history, the catch-all features a bronze horseshoe design around the rim, covering around three-quarters of it. To add to the realism of the piece, ten nails are symmetrically placed around the horseshoe, much like they would be in a real example. Transforming a functional object into an artistic flourish on a luxury object is a trait that Hermès are well known for, with this catchall best demonstrating how ordinary objects can be elevated.

If sold within the United Kingdom, this vintage Hermès Equestrian Catchall will be subject to 20% VAT.
