Hermès-signed Ados Migionnette travel clock | tan case

Hermès-signed Ados Migionnette travel clock | tan case

A delightfully sized travel clock, this double-signed Hermès Jaeger-Lecoultre 'Ados Migionnette' is designed to be easily slipped into a purse or a pocket. Hermès is printed below the hands, a discreet nod to the retailer of the piece. With a deep burgundy case and crisp dial, the clock remains an elegant example of the period.

This Jaeger-LeCoultre 'Ados'-style clock is a remnant from another time, a reminder of the spirit and adventure of the earliest days of travel, and representing a way of life that has all but disappeared. These Ados clocks first appeared in 1931, and were offered in a huge variety of case leathers and leather types, in addition to the many different dial types that can be seen across examples. Furthermore, the Ados model came in many different sizes, such as the Ados Migionnette or Ados Baby, which were smaller versions of the standard Ados.

A delightfully small example of a travel clock, this piece was perfectly designed to fit into a pocket or a purse, and is easily transported. The cream-beige dial is still crisp and remarkably fresh, with lumed Art Deco-style numerals and matching lume-filled hands, originally to increase legibility in darkened conditions.

Meanwhile, the textured, deep burgundy case is in excellent condition, and can be swivelled open to reveal the clock face, and also doubles up as a stand for the piece. An excellent companion to any bedside table, the clock can also be placed on a desk as an elegant touch, or brought along on a cruise or extended holiday to help recapture the romance of a lost time.

If sold within the United Kingdom, this Hermès-signed Jaeger-LeCoultre travel clock will be subject to 20% VAT.
