Equestrian Candle Holder | Silver
An attractive and functional object, this candle holder pays tribute to Hermès equestrian history, and is a product of their longstanding relationship with the silversmiths Ravinet d’Enfert.
This candle holder is an especially attractive yet perfectly usable object, still able to perform its original function. This would be an excellent piece for a sideboard or living room, for a touch of elegant Hermès history.
Created by Ravinet d’Enfert, the renowned Parisian silversmiths favoured by Hermès, the beautifully cast horse head is the focal point of this piece. The detail found here is remarkable, as the curving horse head seems to rise out of the handle, with the muscular structure of the face depicted very vividly, and the strands of the mane flowing dramatically around the neck.
Meanwhile, the base plate features intricate engine-turning, with a mesmerising concentric guilloché pattern. The candle holder is placed in the centre, rising up in a traditional chimney shape, with a comfortable width that allows you to ensconce a candle of your choice firmly within. The horse head also doubles as a holder here, so the object can be easily picked up and placed wherever required.
If sold within the United Kingdom, this Hermès equestrian candle holder will be subject to 20% VAT.
